Amazon Trip

November 25, 2016

The Team!

A missionary, a Peruvian pastor and evangelist, an Anthropologist, an IT guy involved in translation work, and a brother in Christ from North Dakota.

The journey into the Amazon jungle

Their plan was to go into the communities spending time with the brothers and sisters within their homes to reinforce the gospel message and answer questions that they may have. The purpose of the trip was to evaluate the pastoral conferences that we have been hosting for them in the Satipo and Pichanaki area. We desire to serve them by teaching them God’s word, however, we would like to know if there is a better way that they learn or something we can do differently. Joe was able to meet with the chiefs, leaders, and pastors within the communities of Chembo, Mayapo, and Satipo. The men took boats up river and hiked deep within in order to visit the indigenous people. We give God all the praise and glory for giving them this beautiful opportunity to enter into villages to teach and preach about our Savior Jesus Christ.

The men teaching and preaching at the church in Mayapo and Chembo

Many of the people walked miles, some barefoot, to attend the services and hear the teachings. One of the indigenous men in Mayapo is the pastor of their local church. He and is family do not have much. He spends his days hunting and fishing for enough to feed his family while spreading the gospel message to his community and neighboring communities. When asked, “How can we be praying for you and what are your needs?” He replied humbly, “Please pray for tracts, bibles, and hymnals for our church so that I can preach the gospel.”

The People within Mayapo and Chembo

We would like to thank you for all that you do and have done for our family. We pray for our supporters regularly. Please continue to pray that God’s name would be glorified and that He would receive the glory and honor.

Why do we go to the unreached people of Peru preaching and teaching? Because we want God’s name and glory to be magnified among the nations. Our vision is to train indigenous leaders and pastors throughout Peru so that they may be better equipped to reach their people for Jesus Christ.

Please prayerfully consider financially partnering with our family as we continue the work here in Peru. Your monthly support enables us to live and work among the Quechuan people sharing the gospel.
